What makes linen so special? The process. Producing linen yarn is labour-intensive, involving manual steps that contribute to its premium quality and luxurious status. As a result, linen is now considered a high-end fabric, favoured for both its refined aesthetic and natural performance.

Linen is an eco-friendly fabric made from the fibres of the flax plant, one of the oldest cultivated crops in the world. Grown globally for thousands of years, flax is prized not only for its strength and durability, but also for its sustainable, zero-waste production process.

To harvest the fibres, flax plants are either hand-pulled or cut at the base. The seeds are removed through winnowing or ripping, and the remaining stalks undergo retting, a natural process that separates the fibres from the woody stem. The longest fibres some reaching up to 20cm are carefully collected, spun into yarn, and woven into the beautiful, breathable linen fabric we know today.
